Ford Vans and the Econoline is the iconic symbol of all.
The USA is unique in the power output of production vans. No where else can it be seen as the norm to have V* performance linked to a commercial Van of any description. In Japan and Australia you might be lucky to see a V^ in a people mover but for most its four cylinders.
The Ford Econoline has had the power and the appeal for mods that set the trend of modifying vans from the 1960's. This is still practiced today although the customising aspects and craftsmanship is a craft loosing appeal as younger generations are opting for smaller vehicles to modify.
From the hippy days of the 1960's to today the Econoline has been symbolic in the lifestyle of utilising a simple commercial vehicle and re adapting it to suit a way of life and now a art form.
