Ford Transit 2010 Connect
For Australia, Europe, UK and South Africa the Ford Transit Van is a name synonymous with quality vans for decades, but for the USA the Transit is about to set the pace in 2010 for the smaller van varieties.
At the recent Detroit Motor show the Ford Transit connect 2010 was voted best truck (commercial) for 2010.
Coming of sales of 600,000 units the Ford Transit US spec will be just what the customers order in the new age of economy and value for money.
previous vans in the US boasted space but fuel economy was left behind it is hoped that Ford reach the fuel thrifty purchases with the Connect..
For the US buyer it may be hard to grasp that this vehicle lacks some of the usual features found in other Vans. Reverse camera (not available) and sensors for example are optional .
The 2.0 LT engine puts out 136 hp and 128 lb-ft of torque, This 4 cyl does the job but is not a race car of the mark. The US will get 4 ratios for whatever purpose but it is expected the low ratio around town version will be the most popular.

Or Fully Electric
Not yet but can you see where Ford are heading? The fully electric van is only years if not months away. Lithium ion technology has enable vehicles like the Transit Connect to be designed with this in mind.
Australia, Europe, UK and South Africa too will benefit as this technology will move into the world wide market.
At this stage expect too varieties, the 21 and the 28 kWh pack.
These vans will prove themselves quickly in the small haul urban environments.
Other technology too will find its way ito the Transit. Just like the computer in dash as per the E series and F series trucks.
